A recent example of these skills in action was Susan leadership of Organizing Ewe Inc, a document compilation & management company that provides services such as scheduling, reports & a variety of administrative functions, based on the need of independent contractors on a monthly basis. Over the past few years Susan has provided strong professional guidance & support in the development & financial aspects of this organisation, as well as coached staff to take full responsibility for recruiting clients, developing contracts & ensuring excellent results.
As the Director of Operations for Echo Global Logistics, Chicago, IL, Susan was responsible for overseeing all aspects of business in the Bend, OR office including broker/agent functions, HR issues & accounting.
She worked collaboratively with the corporate office to resolve problems; provided support functions to brokers/agents; & developed an effective operational plan to direct daily activities. Prior to this she was the COO of Black Pearl Transport Group Inc, La Pine, OR where she was responsible for maintaining a quality service with functioning motor carriers, including regulatory compliance for driver, vehicle & safety programs, plus weight-mile taxes & government reports. She was also in charge of various financial duties, such as accounts receivable/payable, fuel accounts & driver settlements.
Susan has a passion for life-long learning & achieved her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry (1990) from the University of N Iowa, IA; her Master of Business Administration (2006) from the University of Phoenix, AZ, & qualified as a Global Logistics Specialist (2009) from the Californian State University, CA. She has since completed her Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership (2010) from the University of Phoenix, AZ, & is currently studying for her Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Psychology at Capella University, Minneapolis, MN (in progress - expected completion 2013).
