Rob Worth joined Synergy in 2005 & is based in London. He achieved his MMath (Hon) Mathematics from the University of Southampton & spent his early career as a Software Engineer for the Chase Manhattan-Oracle Systems Group. He joined Synergy in 2005 & specialises in Service/Process Improvement using Lean Thinking Methodology. He has extensive experience of working in the financial sector, along with complementary project management in software, health & recruitment.
Rob focuses on providing value to clients, by delivering performance improvement results. The benefits our clients see are lower cost, shorter lead times, higher staff morale, freeing management from fire fighting & more appropriate use of space & technology. Process improvement (PI) leads to improved quality, less re-work, fewer errors & complaints. Clients are happier, because customers are getting the quality they want faster & often with cost savings, leading to higher sales.
Rob uses his excellent people skills to gently remind clients who their customer is, what matters to them most & how to measure what matters more effectively. We have found this to be helpful to clients, when improving their processes & customer service, thus increasing the value produced & removing unnecessary waste. The most important thing is to change management's thinking. There must be a focus on systems, the variation due to the system & how to improve it.
Most of the time managers look at cost, profit & people. The premise of Lean Thinking is that costs, profit & performance are a by-product of the system. 'PI using Lean' tells us that waste must be defined from the customer's point of view & gives us new ways of looking, so we can identify & remove that waste. By focusing on the purpose & efficiency of the system, all the other good things follow, making the leadership of cultural change that much easier.
When Rob isn't working, you'll find him enjoying jazz at Ronnie Scott's, walking with the Barnet YHA Local Group, or refereeing in the Amateur Football Combination.
