r_pollock.PNGRonnie Pollock joined Synergy in 1997 as an adviser on strategic healthcare planning, which he has been doing since 1992, following a distinguished clinical
& managerial career in the National Health Service (UK). He was educated at Cambridge & held a range of clinical posts at the Middlesex Hospital, London
(a University Teaching Hospital), prior to becoming a General Surgeon.

Moving into Public Health Medicine with the Oxford Regional Health Authority,
he became Director of Planning & Regional Director of Public Health Medicine.
For many years, he was responsible for the planning & organisation of comprehensive healthcare for 2.7 million people across the Oxford Region. 
In addition, as the Regional Medical Officer, he also led on the appointment, development & performance management of senior doctors. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine & also an active Member of the British Medical Association.

Ronnie has extensive experience in strategic planning & was responsible for introducing the methodology into the NHS. He has wide international experience in facilities planning, having been a consultant on over seventy projects, spanning seventeen countries & embracing every type of facility from community hospitals to major university teaching centres.

He has also been active in promoting the development of Health Services Research in the UK & created the Health Services Research Unit at Oxford University.  His personal research has been into the changing patterns of healthcare delivery & their impact on future organisational structures & health planning for the new millennium.
