Nick Green joined the Asia Pacific Team of Synergy Global in 2011, to focus on helping people to lead change more effectively.

After leaving The University of The West of England with an Honours Degree in Economics, he furthered his education at London South Bank University & became an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Nick spent the first six years of his professional life working in the UK for the Greater London Council & Jones Lang LaSalle. He emigrated with his family to Melbourne, AUS in 1981.

Nick’s expertise is in building & managing service businesses in the property industry. Between 1985-95 he built & ran the largest independent property/facilities management business in AUS & NZ, for Jones Lang LaSalle. During Nick’s stewardship, the property management division was consistently the most profitable business in the company. Examples of some of his achievements during this time included creating:

  • A National Quality Assurance System & a Property Asset Management System
  • An Engineering/Facilities Management Service & a Tenant Retention Program
  • A highly successful team - with improved staff retention (Average of 5 years)

On the basis of his success he was appointed the Managing Director of JLW Advisory the property consulting arm of Jones Lang LaSalle, where his remit was to turnaround the 3 previous years of losses to profit. Nick achieved this by reducing waste & improving processes with service delivery metrics; overhauling the client base; introducing an incentive based remuneration & risk management system. Following this success he was given the responsibility for the major clients & also project leadership for the introduction of a client management system, which was rolled out across the business.

In 2001 Nick enjoyed a short period as a recruitment executive. He was headhunted by DTZ London to establish & grow their professional services division in Australia. In 2006, he was recruited by Nakheel in Dubai to design & manage their Asset Management Business from a standing start to one that ultimately had the ability to manage property & facilities to support a population of three million people. This role encompassed designing the structure of the company, both legally & organisationally, employing appropriately experienced staff, overseeing the design & implementation of the supporting technology platform, plus supervising the production of tailor-made integrated procedures across multi-disciplined divisions. Importantly, Nick created a friendly & cooperative workplace with a strong work ethic & a ‘Can Do’ attitude.

Nick’s thirty years experience have provided him with the ability to deal with people on all levels. He attributes much of his success to his skill in selecting the right people & subsequently inspiring them. The team environments he creates are cohesive & fun. He encourages personal development & sharing problems/solutions. Nick’s leadership style emphasises accountability with a winning attitude focused on performance.

Waste & lack of professionalism are an anathema, accordingly Nick looks to minimise these traits in any team. He has a strong record of business development & in delivering performance both in terms of profit as well as long term relationships. He is straight forward to deal with & makes quick, informed decisions. He enjoys strategy & developing/implementing business plans to achieve results.

Nick was the Winner of the inaugural Australian Property Industry Young Achiever’s Award & also has a Master Diploma (Rogen International) in Presentation & Public Speaking.
