Executive Out Placement Coaching, Birmingham University
Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UK)
Client Issue: UHB is the leading University Teaching Hospital in the West Midlands. The Trust consists of the Queen Elizabeth & Selly Oak Hospitals which provide adult services for the population of South Birmingham & a range of specialist treatments. The Trust has over 6700 staff, whose vast expertise deliver high quality care to more than half a million patients every year. They are a leading teaching hospital & have strong research links with Birmingham University &| the University of Central England. The Trust is in the process of building Birmingham’s first new general hospital for 70 years – due to open in 20/11/12. As the Trust underwent significant change in the run up to gaining ‘Foundation Status’, the Board was restructured & Synergy asked to assist with some Executive Out Placement Coaching. Naturally this senior manager felt angry about her redundancy & disenfranchised by what had happened. She had been working very hard & was also quite out of touch with her own development needs – & how she was perceived by her peers & the Board.
Solution: Executive coaching support regarding client’s strengths/weaknesses using the NHS Leadership Qualities Framework (LQF) 360º Feedback Tool. Personal Development Planning (PDP) including CV.

Outcome: Client gained a much clearer understanding of her strengths & weaknesses. 360º feedback completed & debriefed. PDP, CV & Professional Portfolio updated. Career Action Plan agreed, with a more positive & enthusiastic attitude about the future. As a result, this client found a new job within 6 weeks!
