Alasdair Miller joined Synergy in 2004, having been a practicing dentist in South West UK for over 25 years & having served as the Managing Partner for 20 years of a thriving 5 dentist practice. In the late 1980’s, he became increasingly involved in Postgraduate Dental Education, culminating in being appointed the Dental Postgrad Dean for SW England - only the second general practitioner to be appointed as Dean. His part-time work as Dean involves managing a team of 20 staff & being Program Director for the University Distance Learning Diploma, with 300 students enrolled.
For several years, he has also been involved in developing National Policy for the dental profession. The management of training of sub consultant grade staff in the NHS is also part of his role & has lead to the development of Alasdair’s leadership skills as a facilitator & program manager.
Since 1996, he has worked with the Lloyd & Whyte group, as a consultant to the Managing Director & since 2004 has been the Company Secretary for two of the companies. Lloyd & Whyte has grown 10 fold in the past 6 years & is undoubtedly helped by Alasdair’s expertise.
It is the unique combination of Alasdair’s skills that has led us to invite him to become a consultant for Synergy & also to chair our Development Board. Whilst Alasdair would be too modest to write this, we’d like to mention his gravitas, personal integrity, strong analytical skills & knowledge of company law…
all of which bode well for our growing relationships with clients & strategic partners.
When not at work, Alasdair relaxes by playing his saxophone & enjoys water skiing & sailing.
